Assam: Dibrugarh-Guwahati IndiGo flight carrying CM Himanta Biswa Sarma diverted; officials confirm

NEW DELHI: An IndiGo flight from Dibrugarh to Guwahati carrying Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was diverted to Agartala on Sunday after bad weather prevented it from landing in Guwahati, the chief minister’s office (CMO) said.

Earlier in the day, IndiGo issued a travel advisory highlighting the weather situation in Guwahati. “Persistent rainfall and thunderstorms are currently affecting Guwahati, impacting flight operations,” the airline said.
