AP airports witness an increase in air travelers number
Visakhapatnam: Airports in Andhra Pradesh registered a substantial growth in passengers and also a movement of aircraft in the current financial year to date. Visakhapatnam International Airport recorded an increase in passenger growth of 27.70% and also an increase in aircraft movement by 23.91% in the 2022-23 fiscal.
The AP Air travelers Association president Dr. K Kumar Raja and Vice President O Naresh Kumar said that 44.06 lakh passengers traveled in this financial year compared to 31.68 lakh in the previous year. Visakhapatnam airport alone registered 22.28 lakh passengers compared to 16.11 lakh passengers in the previous year. Visakhapatnam airport has huge potential for new sectors within India and connectivity to Dubai for further onward connectivity for international travel. Visakhapatnam registered an increase in aircraft movement to 19,766 compared to 15,040 aircraft movements in the 2021 financial year.
