Andhra Pradesh to get India’s 1st 6 GW solar ingot-wafer unit

New Delhi: India will see its first integrated 6 GW solar photovoltaic ingot and wafer manufacturing plant come up in Anakapalli in Andhra Pradesh.

ReNew Photovoltaics, a subsidiary of ReNew Energy Global PLC, is setting up the ₹3,990 crore greenfield unit at Rambilli in Anakapalli district. This will be India’s first such commercial scale plant.

Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board, led by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, approved the investment in a meeting on Thursday.
