Amid IndiGo fiasco and flight cancellations, Civil Aviation Secretary says ‘things almost back to normal’

A wave of massive flight cancellations by India’s largest airline IndiGo has sparked a week of chaos and grounded tens of thousands of passengers. With more than 1,000 flights being cancelled or delayed for almost a week now, the government has decided to cut IndiGo’s winter flight schedule and reallocate those slots to other airlines. Amid the ongoing chaos, Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha said things are almost back to normal after the disruptions caused by the recent IndiGo operational crisis. Sinha said the government coordinated efforts at various tiers, including airports, as the stranded passengers faced inconvenience.
