Akasa Air: India’s newest airline debuts with Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight

MUMBAI: Billionaire Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s Akasa Air made its debut on Sunday with its first flight operating from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
“The maiden flight took off from Mumbai at 10:05am with a scheduled arrival at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 11:25 am,” said the airline in a press statement.
The airline, whose code is QP, will offer 28 weekly flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
Akasa Air said it has already announced a total of five routes along five cities, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Bengaluru and Chennai.
