Adani plans India’s biggest battery storage in Gujarat
Adani Group on Tuesday announced its entry into battery energy storage systems (BESS) business with a 1126 MW/3530 MWh project at Khavda in Gujarat, site of the world’s largest renewable energy park.
Slated for commissioning by March, the project will be India’s largest and among the world’s biggest single-location BESS deployments, involving more than 700 BESS containers.
The storage system, based on advanced lithium-ion battery technology, will be capable of delivering 1126 MW for about three hours, helping stabilise the grid, manage peak loads, and support round-the-clock renewable energy supply.
