Bengaluru: Three railway stations in the growing city are set to accommodate more passengers waiting for their journeys. KSR at Majestic, SMVT at Byappanahalli, and the one at KR Pura will have new modular passenger holding areas capable of accommodating up to 7,000 people by next year. There will also be a similar makeover at Mysuru.
These new holding areas are part of a nationwide project planned across 76 stations. Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw clarified that the new structures will be constructed with local conditions in mind.
