Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Science (JITS) has emerged as the first educational institution in integrated Karimnagar district to install a 190 kw solar rooftop system to encourage green power and protect the environment.
Set up at a cost of Rs. 1.4 crore, this solar system is expected to generate approximately 2.85 lakh units of power per annum and reduce 178 tonne carbon emissions per year. JITS would meet 78% of its power demand through solar power and the remaining through traditional NPDCL power.
