Approximately Rs 5 crore outlay is needed for generation of one megawatt thermal power. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Environmental Impact Assessment studies are in progress and expected to complete by May. The project work is likely to commence from September,&#8221; a senior NTPC official official told PTI. <\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the country&#8217;s largest thermal power producer said, &#8220;Tenders are already invited for the main plant equipment and NTPC is taking up this project on fast track mode.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>NTPC is executing 1,000 MW coal based units with supercritical technology, thereby the efficiency will be at the maximum and emissions are reduced drastically. <\/p>\n<p>The power plant requires 13.7 million tonnes coal per annum to achieve 90 per cent plant load factor, NTPC said. <\/p>\n<p>The Expert Appraisal Committee under the Ministry of Environment and Forests has already issued terms of reference for conducting EIA study in respect of this project, it added. <\/p>\n<p>The current installed power capacity of Andhra Pradesh is 18531.07 MW, as per latest official data.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HYDERABAD: State-owned NTPC has invited tenders for sourcing equipment for its proposed Rs 20,000 crore thermal power project in Andhra Pradesh.
