Adani Group\u2019s Chairman Gautam Adani on Thursday met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at her office today in Chennai.<\/p>\n
While Adani didn’t speak to the media outside the Chief Minister’s office and government officials were not available for comment immediately, DIPR has said that it was a \u201ccourtesy call by Adani\u201d. Rajesh Adani, managing director of Adani Group, was also present during the meeting.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Adani and the Chief Minister also discussed Adani Group’s solar power plants at a cost of Rs 4,536 crore in Ramanathapuram district with a capacity of around 648 mega watt (MW) and potential investments in the state for the group.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Adani had said that Tamil Nadu offers tremendous potential for the Group. Already, the company is setting up a 650 MW solar plant which will be the largest in the world.<\/p>\n
“We are now investing in port and non-renewable power projects (thermal) and we are looking at investing around Rs 15,000-20,000 crore in the state,” said Adani earlier.<\/p>\n
