Vistara and AirAsia will soon be able to fly international as the Union Cabinet has cleared the civil aviation policy today. <\/p>\n
“In the aviation policy, we had proposed that the government should charge Rs 8,000 per landing from airlines to fund the regional connectivity plan,” said a senior aviation ministry official, who did not want to be identified. <\/p>\n
He added that the Cabinet has said that the policy should not give a number to the amount to be charged to airlines. “So, the cabinet has cleared the charge but asked the ministry to fix the charge ourselves,” said the official quoted above. <\/p>\n
According to the new rule, the cabinet has approved replacing 5\/20 international flying norms with just 20 aircraft. <\/p>\n
The new rules will allow airlines with a 20 aircraft fleet rule or 20% of seat capacity, whichever is higher, to be maintained in the domestic sector. <\/p>\n
