Over the last three days, implementing agency RVNL completed the crucial work of deck slab-casting for the last 550m of the overhead section beyond the Majerhat Metro station.<\/p>\n<p>A continuous viaduct (on which Metro tracks are laid) till this point \u2014 around 260m from Mominpore crossing \u2014 is a prerequisite for Kolkata\u2019s Purple line\u2019s 2km extension from Taratala. The Line 3 now runs 6.5km from Joka to Taratala and is due to start extended operations till Majerhat this pujas. \u201cThe deck slab-casting is significant for the extension project.
