Officials said this is the second fully steel bridge in the state after the one at Marthandam in Kanyakumari district. <\/p>\n<p>Corporation chief engineer (general) S Rajendiran said the pile and pile cap are of concrete and placed beneath the ground. &#8220;The pier, pier cap and deck girders, of high tensile steel, are made in Trichy and brought here. It takes only few hours to place them. Above the girders, a steel deck sheet is placed.
