On Monday, the consumption stood at 248 MW, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>An official with the Union territory\u2019s engineering wing stated, \u201cThis usually happens mid-May. Perhaps for the first time, the power demand has already touched 230 MW from what was 210 MW a week ago. If this situation continues, the demand will reach 300 MW by the end of this month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In winter, the peak demand in the city is around 170 MW while in summer, especially in June, it may go up to 400 MW.
