{"id":56457,"date":"2016-02-29T11:06:52","date_gmt":"2016-02-29T11:06:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/infralive.com\/web\/?p=56457"},"modified":"2016-02-29T11:06:52","modified_gmt":"2016-02-29T11:06:52","slug":"super-critical-thermal-power-project-to-come-up-at-uppur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infralive.com\/web\/super-critical-thermal-power-project-to-come-up-at-uppur\/","title":{"rendered":"Super critical thermal power project to come up at Uppur"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tamil Nadu Government has laid the foundation stone for 2&#215;800 MW super critical thermal power project in Uppur in Ramanathapuram district, which will be set up at an estimated cost of Rs 12,778 crore. <\/p>\n<p>Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa laid the foundation stone on Saturday, an official release here said today. <\/p>\n<p>Upon its scheduled completion in 2019, the Uppur Power Project will generate 38.4 million units of power a day, the release said, adding it was coming up in over 995.16 acres. <\/p>\n<p>PSU BHEL has been awarded a Rs 5,580 crore contract for the Boiler, Turbine and Generator works, related engineering and procurement, design and other initiatives, it said. <\/p>\n<p>Jayalalithaa handed over the order for this purpose to BHEL Chairman and Managing Director Atul Sobti. <\/p>\n<p>The proposal was part of the state government&#8217;s efforts to boost the power sector to ensure overall industrial development of the state, it said. <\/p>\n<p>Jayalalithaa also inaugurated 13 sub-stations set up in different parts of the state at an estimated cost of Rs 424 crore, it added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Tamil Nadu Government has laid the foundation stone for 2&#215;800 MW super critical thermal power project in Uppur in Ramanathapuram district, which will be set up at an estimated cost of Rs 12,778 crore.
