If the Indian government becomes a participant in the conglomerate\u2019s effort, however, it would be doing itself and all Indians a great disservice.<\/p>\n<p>In its rebuttal to short-seller Hindenburg Research\u2019s claims of stock manipulation, tycoon Gautam Adani\u2019s company made its strategy clear: Hindenburg\u2019s accusations were, said Adani, \u201ca calculated attack on India, the independence, integrity and quality of Indian institutions, and the growth story and ambition of India.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is, of course, not true.
