Kumar is a veteran of Indian aviation who was associated with IndiGo from its early days. The airline confirmed his resignation and said the head of international sales \u2014Vinay Malhotra, who recently joined from VFS \u2014 will take over Kumar\u2019s role.<\/p>\n<p>Kumar had joined IndiGo as chief commercial officer in 2007 and was in that role till 2018. He then quit to join AirAsia India as COO and returned to IndiGo in January 2020. He is credited with creating the mega spider web type of network IndiGo has built in its over 16 years of existence. It is now the domestic market leader.
