CHENNAI: Consumers in Chennai have overwhelmingly demanded that e-commerce and delivery companies speed their transition to electric vehicles in order to combat air pollution, according to a recent survey conducted by Sustainable Mobility Network (SMN) in six Indian cities, which was released on Monday.
\nThe survey was conducted among 1,500 Chennaites to gauge their perception of e-commerce companies’ EV transition plans. According to the survey results, last-mile delivery trucks are one of the causes of Chennai’s increasing air pollution, and 89% of respondents agreed that switching delivery companies to electric vehicles would be very helpful in reducing climate change.
