MUMBAI: The Central Railway (CR), with funds provided by the BMC, will construct a total of 10 foot-over bridges (FOBs) across railway tracks in Mumbai to provide east-west connect to pedestrians.
\nCR has been pursuing the construction of these bridges since 2019, but after the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government led by Uddhav Thackeray came to power, decision making for the projects got stalled. Covid-induced lockdown also added to the delay.
\nNow, with the transfer of power in the state, a decision was taken in the very first meeting between the CR and the civic body to rebuild these crucial bridges at the earliest.
