On an average, around 10% of departing passengers \u2014 or 2,500-3,000 flyers \u2014 do not do prior check-in and pay the amount to get the boarding pass at the check-in desk. <\/p>\n<p>On May 21, 2020, prior to the commencement of domestic flights post the lockdown, the ministry had made it mandatory for passengers to do web check-in and download the boarding pass on the cellphone or get a printout. Following this, private carriers IndiGo, SpiceJet and Go First (formerly Go Air) began charging Rs 100 to those who did not get web checked-in.
