The move is aimed at improving fuel efficiency, driving safety and reduction of noise caused due to rolling sound emission.<br \/>\nAll existing tyre designs will also have to comply with the \u2018wet grip\u2019 and \u2018rolling resistance\u2019 standards from next April and the less rolling noise standard from June 2023.<br \/>\nThe mandatory compliance of new norms for tyre manufacturers and importers \u2014 rolling resistance (fuel efficiency), wet grip (performance of braking on wet stretches) and rolling sound emissions \u2014 will pave the way for \u2018star rating\u2019 or \u2018labelling\u2019 of tyres in the country in the near future.
