NEW DELHI: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) says Air India has uploaded the \u201cprovisions of denied boarding, flight delays (and others)\u201d in its Citizen Charter.
\nThe regulator had this Tuesday (June 14) fined AI Rs 10 lakh for violating rules for denying boarding and had ordered it \u201cto immediately put systems in place to resolve the issue, failing which further action shall be taken.\u201d
\n\u201cAI has uploaded provisions of denied boarding, flight delays in its charter,\u201d a senior DGCA official said.
\nOn denied boarding, AI charter says: \u201cWhen the number of passengers, who have been given confirmed bookings for travel on the flight and who have reported for the flight well within time, are more than the number of seats available, an airline must first ask for volunteers to give up their seats\u2026 in exchange of benefits\/facilities\u2026 provided airports concerned have dedicated check-in facilities\/gate areas which make it practical for the airline to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
