NEW DELHI: Ola Electric is likely to voluntarily recall faulty batches of electric vehicles (EVs) after two other players \u2014 Okinawa and Pure EV \u2014 recently took the same step amid increasing cases of EVs going up in flames and also claiming lives.
\nThe voluntary recalls by manufacturers have increased after the government threatened them with \u201cheavy penalties\u201d if they failed to take immediate remedial action, including calling back faulty models. On Saturday, another fire in an EV \u2014 Corbett 14 manufactured by Boom Motors \u2014 was reported from Andhra Pradesh which left one dead.
