NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna public sector unit, and its subsidiaries generated 2,920 crore units of power in the financial year 2021-22 setting a record in terms of power generation in a financial year since the inception of the company.<\/p>\n
The power generated by the company in 2021-22 is 18.64% higher than the power generated (2,461.3 crore units) in 2020-21.<\/p>\n
The company and its subsidiaries also exported 2,589 crore units of power to the distribution companies (Discoms) in 2021-22, which is 19.75% higher than the exports in 2020-21, thus creating a new export record.<\/p>\n
The company’s lone coal mine in Talabira in Odisha mined 63.58 lakh tonne of coal, which is almost five times more than the coal mined (10.13 lakh tonne in 2020-21. The Talabira coal mine surpassed the target (40 lakh tonne) set by the Union coal ministry for 2021-22.<\/p>\n
The company set a record in the green energy sector too. The company’s solar and wind power plants have generated 218.4 crore units of power, the highest in a financial year since its inception, which is also 5.93% higher than the power generated (206.17 crore units) in 2020-21.<\/p>\n
The lignite mining in 2021-22 recorded a 30% increase over the previous fiscal. The company and its subsidiaries mined 25.1 million tonne of lignite setting yet another record in lignite sales amounting to Rs 419 crore.<\/p>\n
NLCIL group has spent Rs 2,417 crore on capital expenditure against the target of Rs 2,061 crore, which is 17% higher than the target. The company collected Rs 15,486 crore from the discoms again setting a record in revenue collection since its inception.
