CHENNAI: GE Renewable Energy has announced the opening of a new renewable hybrids factory in Vallam near Chennai. The site boasts 250 employees, 20 of whom are women.
\n\u201cThis facility that has been set up following the lean principles of reducing waste and improving productivity and is well suited to strengthen GE\u2019s place in the hybrids space,\u201d said Prakash Chandra, renewable hybrids CEO, GE Renewable Energy.
\nThe Chennai factory will make the Flexinverter and Flexreservoir products and help integrate them with the Flexiq offering, from GE\u2019s newly-launched Flex portfolio.
\nThe Flexiq is a digital platform that provides design, operation and fleet management solutions to enable grid compliance. The Flexreservoir is a system-integrated battery energy storage and power electronics solution for multiple configurations and market applications.
