MUMBAI: Western Railway, Mumbai Central division, conducted an intensive ticket checking drive at stations and on trains on Monday and recovered fines of over Rs 20 lakh in a day.
\nWR chief spokesperson Sumit Thakur said 167 staff and 20 RPF personnel were deployed. \u201cAlmost 4,000 cases were detected and of Rs 20.1 lakh was recovered as penalty,\u201d he said.
\nThe total ticket checking earning of the division was over Rs 11 crore during the financial year.
