The deal is part of Reliance\u2019s bid to fast-track the creation of an EV ecosystem in the country and create a market for high performance energy storage batteries it proposes to produce under a $10 billion green energy plan. The two entities began trials on Thursday, the company said in a statement. Reliance BP Mobility will set up battery swapping stations at its retail outlets, operating under the Jio-BP brand, in the next five years.
