State-run generation utility NTPC\u2019s power trading arm on Monday floated a tender for deploying hydrogen fuel cell buses in the national capital and the country\u2019s youngest Union territory. <\/p>\n<p>This is the first time anywhere in the world that buses using hydrogen will be used at extreme altitude and temperature prevailing in Leh. The seat of Ladakh administration is situated at an elevation of 11,500 feet and experiences temperature of -20 degrees in winter. <\/p>\n<p>NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) is the second company planning to introduce hydrogen buses in Delhi after the country\u2019s flagship refiner and fuel retailer IndianOil.
