While the Jewar international airport, which is coming up in the NCR region and is expected to be ready by 2023, will reduce congestion at the Delhi airport, the Ayodhya international airport and Kushinagar international airport are likely to boost the development of the economically backward eastern region of the state, apart from facilitating religious tourism to these world-famous sites.<\/p>\n<p>The state government has sanctioned Rs 200 crore for the Kushinagar airport, which got the Directorate General of Civil Aviation\u2019s (DGCA\u2019s) approval recently, thus becoming the third licensed international airport in UP after Lucknow and Varanasi.
