MUMBAI: The Bombay Goods Transport Association (BGTA) on Wednesday announced that more than 10 lakh truckers all over Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai (and entire Maharashtra) will join and support the Bharat Bandh called by Traders\u2019 body – CAIT on February 26 by keeping goods vehicles off the road. If this happens, it will impact the transportation of essential and non-essential goods to the city for a day.
\nAlthough there was no hike in fuel prices on Wednesday, the price of diesel in Mumbai has peaked to Rs 88.44 per litre while the petrol price in the city is now Rs 97.34.
\nBGTA secretary Suresh Khosla said \u201c BGTA has been petitioning the government on various issues of transport industry mainly on issues of e-way bill under GST and the rising diesel prices, but in vain.” All India Transporters Welfare Association (AITWA) president Mahendra Arya said all transport godowns will display protest banners. “All customers will be approached by transport companies not to book or load any goods on February 26,” he said.

The members will be distributing black masks around GST offices in Mazgaon, Churchgate and Belapur.
