Energy consumption is linked to higher overall demand in the economy. \u201cThe peak demand for power crossed 1,85,820 Megawatt at 9:35 AM on today. This is the highest ever, a record,&#8221; power and new and renewable energy minister Raj Kumar Singh said in a tweet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe demand (and supply) of power in January (up to 19.01.2021) has grown by 8% as compared to the corresponding period of last year.This is the highest rate of growth ever.
