NEW DELHI: Air India has asked all its pilots and cabin crew members to stay in their hotel room during layovers at both domestic and international destinations as a new and more infectious Covid virus variant has unleashed fresh fears.

\n\u201cAs Britain battles a resurgence of the Covid-19 virus, there is disturbing news of the new mutated strain being upto 70% more contagious. Southeast England and the city of London have been put under a strict \u2018stay-at-home\u2019 order as the virus spread has been termed to be \u2018out of control\u2019 and the situation declared to be \u2018alarming\u2019,\u201d Captain Sandhu said in his mail.
