The project, with an estimated capital outlay of Rs 6,000 crore, will come up at the over three-decade-old coal carbonisation plant of Coal India at Dankuni in Hooghly district.<\/p>\n<p>The PSU plans to produce 6.76 lakh tonnes of methanol per annum that will be blended in the ratio of 15 per cent methanol and 85 per cent petrol.<\/p>\n<p>The plant will cater to the methanol requirement of four eastern states \u2013 Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar. <\/p>\n<p>Coal India  said that it is in talks with IOC and other state-owned oil companies for a long-term tie-up to sell methanol.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Coal India has floated a global tender to set up a coal-to-methanol plant in Bengal.
