Contrary to the belief that there will be a rush of stranded people, big airlines reported aircraft occupancy in the range of 44% to 57%.<br \/>\nDomestic flights were suspended on March 25 as part of the lockdown and allowed to resume at a one-third summer schedule level on May 25.<br \/>\nAccording to Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) data released on Tuesday, May 25-31 period saw 2.8 lakh domestic flyers. May 2019 (full month) had seen 1.2 crore domestic flyers. The two month suspension has led to a 43.4% fall in domestic flyers this January-May.
