The Assam based coal producing unit of CIL in order stated, \u201cAs per approval of competent authority all mining operations of NEC are hereby temporarily suspended, June 3, 2020.\u201d The order stated that however liquidation of present coal stocks will continue till existing coal stocks is exhausted. \u201cAll necessary statutory formalities in this regard to be taken up with concerned statutory bodies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Recently the Division Bench of Gauhati High Court accepted the Public Interest Litigations (PILs) filed in connection with coal mining in the Dehing Patkai forest in Assam and gave the next date of hearing for the same in July.
