{"id":353754,"date":"2020-05-28T09:56:13","date_gmt":"2020-05-28T04:26:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/infralive.com\/web\/?p=353754"},"modified":"2020-05-28T10:13:44","modified_gmt":"2020-05-28T04:43:44","slug":"ntpc-joins-fray-to-buy-rinfras-delhi-electricity-distribution-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infralive.com\/web\/ntpc-joins-fray-to-buy-rinfras-delhi-electricity-distribution-business\/","title":{"rendered":"NTPC joins fray to buy RInfra&#8217;s Delhi electricity distribution business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an ambitious move, the country&#8217;s largest power producer NTPC is joining the fray for buying out the Delhi electricity distribution business of Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra). <\/p>\n<p>In a letter to the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC), NTPC said it was keen to buy 51 per cent stake in BSES Rajdhani Power and BSES Yamuna Power \u2014 the two distribution companies (discoms) owned by RInfra. <\/p>\n<p>It said it was keen to foray into the distribution business, provided \u201cthe equity sale is done through a transparent process\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>Tata Group, Adani Group, and RP Goenka-promoted Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation are also keen to buy stake in the two companies but say the valuation sought by Reliance Infrastructure is too high, considering the Rs 16,000-crore dues which the two companies owe to electricity producers.
