CHENNAI: IndiGo airlines has grounded its crew which operated a Chennai-Coimbatore flight (6E381) on Monday after a passenger tested positive for Covid-19.
\nIn a statement, the airlines said, \u201cThe operating crew has been grounded for 14 days, and we are in the process of notifying other passengers as per the government guidelines to ensure safety of our passengers and staff.\u201d
\n\u201cAll our aircraft are regularly sanitised as a standard operating procedure, and the aircraft operating this flight was also immediately disinfected as per protocol,\u201d said the statement.
\nThe passenger has been admitted to ESI Hospital in Coimbatore. The airline said he was seated \u201con board the aircraft with all precautionary measures including mask, face shield and gloves, as were the other passengers.
