NEW DELHI: With the fear of coronavirus forcing people to cancel their travel plans, aviation minister H S Puri on Friday said he will make \u201csuitable recommendations to private airlines for (waiving) rescheduling charges\u201d. Air India, he said, has already done the same and now he will see how to ensure relief for flyers from private airlines also.
\n\u201cTravel is still happening, though essential. Holidayers may be cancelling plans but travellers for work are rescheduling dates. We are working on cancellation fee issue,\u201d Puri said.
\nAirlines, both AI and some private Indian carriers, have been waiving cancellation and rescheduling charges to places in the grip of coronavirus like southeast Asia and the far East.
