{"id":337084,"date":"2020-02-12T12:33:35","date_gmt":"2020-02-12T07:03:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/infralive.com\/web\/?p=337084"},"modified":"2020-02-12T12:33:35","modified_gmt":"2020-02-12T07:03:35","slug":"power-staff-protest-privatisation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infralive.com\/web\/power-staff-protest-privatisation\/","title":{"rendered":"Power staff protest privatisation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the UT Powermen Union today took out a rally in protest against privatisation of the Electricity Department.<\/p>\n<p>Union general secretary Gopal Dutt Joshi and member of the union condemned the process of privatisation of the department, which they said was running smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>They said the government had dissolved the electricity boards two decades ago in the name of reforms and created corporations and companies.<\/p>\n<p>The government has been repeatedly propagating that the loss-making public sector industries will be privatised and a proposal is being prepared to privatise the power department, which is running in more than Rs 100-crore profit in Chandigarh, which is not justified in any way.
