The first flight operation is expected to begin within a few weeks at Bidar airport, ministry of civil aviation (MoCA) officials said here on Saturday.<br \/>\nFive airports across Karnataka are expected to become operational in two years&#8217; time. These include the Vijayapura, Shivamogga, Karwar, Hassan\/Chikamagalur airports, besides the Bidar one.<br \/>\nThe announcement was made by Union civil aviation secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola. &#8221; Bengaluru has the potential to become the aviation capital of India. We now have airports in all directions in Karnataka. Response to the Kalaburagi airport that was operationalised a few months ago has been extremely good,&#8221; he said.
