The aviation ministry on Monday issued a public notice for \u201ca one-time opportunity for voluntary disclosure of such drones and drone operators\u201d.<br \/>\nAfter the deadline of January 31, 2020, anyone flying an unregistered drone will face action under various sections of the Indian Penal Code as well as Aircraft Act that stipulate imprisonment and\/or fine for varying periods of time and amounts, respectively.<br \/>\nThe Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had in August 2018 issued rules to regulate the use of drones in Indian airspace which require obtaining unique identification number (UIN), unmanned aircraft operator permit (UAOP) and contain other operational requirements including identification of civil drones and drone operators.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW DELHI: Everyone using a drone in India will need to register with the government beginning Tuesday (January 14) by the month-end.
