NEW DELHI: Flagship explorer ONGC has launched an all-India toll-free emergency helpline with a view to improving public safety and response to possible hazardous situations as expanding habitations encroach upon the buffer zones around the company’s installations.
\nPeople living in the vicinity of the company’s installations such as pumping stations, gas processing facilities or other oil production, storage or transportation infrastructure can call up the number – 1800-1800-088 – in case of any emergency. The number will be manned 24X7 on all days and will facilitate rapid response.
\nThe number is aimed at avoiding any situation to develop into a crisis by allowing the public an appropriate interface to inform or warn of their concerns regarding fire or spillage etc.
