This area saw a 73-day stand-off between the Indian and Chinese armies in 2017 when the former protested against the construction of a road by the Chinese in the strategically important zone.<\/p>\n<p>The new motorable road for moving troops to Dokala, on the edge of the Doklam plateau, was only a mule track earlier thereby causing delay in maintaining logistical support.
