{"id":292178,"date":"2019-09-17T07:09:40","date_gmt":"2019-09-17T07:09:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/infralive.com\/web\/?p=292178"},"modified":"2019-09-17T07:09:40","modified_gmt":"2019-09-17T07:09:40","slug":"india-on-track-to-achieve-175-gw-of-clean-energy-by-2022-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infralive.com\/web\/india-on-track-to-achieve-175-gw-of-clean-energy-by-2022-minister\/","title":{"rendered":"India on track to achieve 175 GW of clean energy by 2022: Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BENGALURU: Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan said on Monday that India was on course to generate 175 GW of clean energy by 2022, as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Prime Minister has said that by 2022 we want to have at least 175 GW of clean energy production in the country, out of which 100 GW would be through solar and the rest through other sources,\u201d he said while inaugurating the National Interdisciplinary Centre for Energy Research (NICER) and the National Clean Coal Research and Development Centre (NCCRDC) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. \u201cWe are making good progress. In fact, we are leading from the front,\u201d he said.  The country has set a target of reducing greenhouse gas emission by 33-35 per cent, to combat climate change and global warming.
