Their major demand is reduction in power tariff.<br \/>\nA leader, Sarwan Singh Pandher, while addressing the protesters, said the PSPCL had increased power tariff 12 times in two-and-a-half year, which is unjustified.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters demanded scrapping of the 2003 Act for revival of the Punjab State Electricity Board. They demanded power at Re 1 per unit to every consumer, abrogation of all agreements with private firms for power generation, regular hiring of staff besides ensuring 16-hour power supply to farmers.
