This equipment is used to remove aircraft that are stuck on or near the runway, runway end safety area and other operational parts of the apron so that air traffic can quickly resume at airports after an incident.<br \/>\nIndia currently has only one kit \u2014 with Air India \u2014 for all its airports, despite witnessing huge growth in air traffic in recent years that has led to a massive infra crunch at a majority of its airports. Luckily for Mumbai, that sole kit happened to be in at the city\u2019s constrained airport when a SpiceJet Boeing 737 got stuck at its main runway on July 1. The plane was removed in three days and Mumbai got its regular aerial connectivity.
