NEW DELHI: An AirAsia flight from Hyderabad to Delhi had to make an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International airport on Monday due to a suspected hydraulic failure. The flight, which was carrying 174 passengers, landed safely, officials said.
\nAccording to ATC officials, the incident took place around 11am and a full emergency was declared for the AirAsia flight I5-719 (Hyderabad to Delhi) after the pilot reported to the ATC of a technical glitch. Subsequently, the pilot requested for an emergency landing, following which the flight landed around 11.15am at runway 28\/10. An AirAsia spokesperson said there was a technical glitch during descent and further investigations into the aircraft are underway. “AirAsia (India) Limited reports that flight I5-719, operating from Hyderabad to New Delhi, faced a technical issue during descent. The crew carried out a precautionary landing, following which the aircraft taxied back to the apron. Detailed inspection of the aircraft is underway.” said an AirAsia India spokesperson.
