The National Aviator\u2019s Guild (NAG), which represents pilots of the grounded carrier Jet Airways, Saturday requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to \u201cdirect\u201d the airline\u2019s lender State Bank of India to release one month\u2019s salary of all the employees. In a late evening e-mail to the prime minister, the guild also sought government\u2019s directive to \u201cstop de-registration\u201d of the airline\u2019s aircraft, which are now being leased by other domestic carriers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe urge you to direct SBI to release a month\u2019s salary to all employees on an urgent and humane basis. We don\u2019t want to see a repeat of the human tragedy which unfolded post the Kingfisher Airlines demise,\u201d said NAG president Karan Chopra in the e-mail.<\/p>\n
Thousands of employees of Kingfisher lost over eight months\u2019 salary after the airline went bust in October 2012.
