The situation which was responded to with utmost seriousness and the Standard Operating Procedure being followed in detail, was in reality a mock drill and part of a regulatory compliance exercise planned by the Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL).<\/p>\n
The exercise began when a simulated freighter aircraft (Flight No. XYZ 123, from Zurich-Mumbai) was set on fire while landing, as it collided with a passenger flight PQR 102 on ground.
