In 2018, the peak demand in Chennai was 3,537 MW in April, said officials of the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco).<\/p>\n<p>Tangedco officials were expecting the city\u2019s demand to touch 3,500 MW, but it barely crossed 3,000 MW early this month, said a senior official.
